In other shooters like Hunt: Showdown, the more often you use a certain weapon skin, the dirtier it gets. But is the same true for CS:GO skins?

Many players that are new to CS:GO ask the question: “Can CS:GO skins degrade”. To fully answer this question, we need to talk about a few things, so let’s get right into it.
1. Can weapon skins degrade?
No matter how much you play with a certain skin, it won’t degrade. In CS:GO, weapon skins are assigned a random number between 1 and 0. This so-called “float value” determines how beat-up the skin looks. This float value is set in stone and cannot be changed.
2. Can CS:GO stickers degrade?
Valve’s shooter allows for players to put stickers on their weapon skins to further customize their loadout. While they won’t degrade naturally, the skin owner can scrape bits of the sticker off. This process cannot be undone. It is possible to scratch off the entire sticker.
3. Can CS:GO graffities degrade?
Well, somewhat. Once a graffiti has been unsealed, you can apply the spray pattern 50 times to the in-game world. After the paint has been used up, the graffiti will vanish from your inventory.
4. Do CS:GO skins go down in value?
CS:GO skins can both increase and decrease in value, depending on their current supply and demand. While older skins don’t degrade in quality, they might be less desired after a new skin for the same weapon is released. On the other hand, if the demand stays high, but the supply slowly decreases, your skins might increase in value.
If you hesitated to use a skin because you were afraid it would slowly degrade, rest assured. Once dropped, a weapon skin will always stay the same quality. When it comes to stickers and graffities, players need to be more thoughtful on how to use them.
