On January 22, 2026, Counter-Strike 2 officially entered Season 4. With a fresh competitive reset, millions of matches quickly shaped a new meta. Early data already gives a clear picture of how players perform, which maps dominate, and where most of the player base sits in Premier ranking.
Map Distribution

As expected, Mirage continues to dominate the map pool with a play rate of 26.1%. Surprisingly, Overpass drops to just 4.6%, making it by far the least popular map. Being played so much makes Mirage less likely to be removed from the Map Pool by Valve in the near future.
Rank Distribution

Now that the season has been running for almost exactly a month, it’s clear that there are once again hardly any players above 28,000 Premier rating. These ratings are nearly impossible to reach during the 10 placement matches required to obtain a rank and instead require significantly more playtime. The majority of players sit between 9,000 and 14,000.
Another interesting point is the percentage of matches involving banned players, which steadily increases with higher ratings and peaks at 30,000.

Premier Bomb Plant Percentage
While CT and T win rates sit close to 50% on almost every map, there are clear differences in the popularity of bomb sites. On Ancient in particular, the bomb is planted far more often on B than on A.
