Every Counter-Strike player knows the thrill of opening a new weapon case, hoping for a rare and valuable skin to pop out. With the release of Counter-Strike 2, Valve also created a weekly drop system. For those unfamiliar, the weekly drop allows players to receive random items after playing a certain amount of matches each week. These drops often include weapon cases, which can be unlocked with a key for a chance at unique skins.
At the moment, the weekly drop pool is limited to a handful of specific weapon cases next to mostly cheap skins and graffittis. If you’re looking to maximize your weekly drop potential, here’s a breakdown of the cases you can get and what makes them special.
1. Kilowatt Case
The Kilowatt Case is the newest addition to the game and has quickly gained popularity among players. Packed with a variety of vibrant skins, the Kilowatt Case is designed with an electrifying theme. You can expect neon colors, sharp patterns, and striking designs that make your weapon stand out in the heat of battle.
Though this case doesn’t feature the most expensive skins compared to some older cases, it’s still a favorite for players who appreciate a modern aesthetic. It is also the only case in the game with a Zeus skin.
2. Revolution Case
Released in 2023, the Revolution Case has a lot to offer in terms of artistic flair. It’s filled with bold, rebellious designs that take inspiration from graffiti art and street culture. The case includes a diverse range of weapon skins, from pistols to rifles, and has a few fan favorites, such as the “AK-47 | Head Shot” and the “AWP | Duality.”
3. Recoil Case
The Recoil Case offers a dynamic collection of skins that appeal to those who enjoy both tactical and flashy designs. From sleek camo finishes to more colorful, chaotic patterns, this case has a little something for everyone. Notable skins like the “USP-S | Printstream” and the “AK-47 | Ice Coaled” stand out for their intricate designs and strong market value.
4. Fracture Case
The Fracture Case might not be the newest case around, but it remains a solid option. The skins in this case combine futuristic designs with rough, post-apocalyptic elements, making for a unique mix. Standout items include the “Desert Eagle | Printstream” and the “AK-47 | Legion of Anubis,” both of which are highly sought after.
While the Fracture Case may not command the highest prices compared to older, rare cases, it still contains some coveted skins.
5. Dreams & Nightmares Case
If you love fantasy and surreal art, the Dreams & Nightmares Case is the one to watch out for. This case is packed with skins that range from whimsical and colorful to dark and eerie. Each skin feels like a work of art, with a narrative tied to either dreamy or nightmarish themes.
Some popular skins from this case include the “MP9 | Starlight Protector” and the “AK-47 | Nightwish,” which are both visually striking and in high demand.
The Rare Case Drop: A 1% Chance for Legacy Cases
While the main five cases mentioned above are what you’re most likely to receive in your weekly drop, there’s a small chance—around 1% or even less—that you’ll get a rare case instead. These rare cases are drawn from a pool of 29 different older cases, many of which are no longer in regular circulation.
Among these rare cases, there are a few highly valuable options:
- CS:GO Weapon Case: This is the original case that launched the entire weapon case system. It’s a prized collectible due to its rarity and the iconic skins it contains, like the “AWP | Lightning Strike.” Prices for this case have skyrocketed over the years due to its historical significance.
- Operation Bravo Case: This case holds some of the most iconic skins in the game, including the “AK-47 | Fire Serpent.” It’s rare and highly valued, often fetching a hefty price on the market.
- Operation Phoenix, Vanguard, and Hydra Cases: These operation cases are from past events, and many of them contain sought-after skins, making them valuable to collectors and players alike.
Each of these rare cases has become a part of Counter-Strike’s legacy, and getting one in your weekly drop can feel like hitting the jackpot. They can be sold for high prices on the market, or you could take the risk and open one to see if you land one of the legendary skins inside.
