Some of the most popular knives in CS2 are the Butterfly Knife and the Karambit. You can obtained these from the older cases released up to and including the Revolver Case. The very popular Doppler, Gamma and Marble Fade finishes can be found in Chroma, Gamma, Spectrum, and Breakout cases.
You can see a list of them in the image below. It shows all the cases currently available in the game and the gold items you can obtain from them. The Genesis Terminal is not in the picture. It has replaced the Fracture Case in the active drop pool and doesn’t contain any gold item.

What makes the Breakout Case special
What makes the Breakout Case special is that it only contains the Butterfly Knife as a gold item. Skins like the P90 | Asiimov and the M4A1-S | Cyrex have now become some of the most sought-after and expensive reds for knife trade-ups.
Trade-Ups for Gloves
You can trade up highly popular old-school gloves like the Pandora’s Box Gloves, Hedge Maze Gloves, and Crimson Kimono Gloves using red weapon skins from the Hydra Case and the Glove Case. However, these cases are quite expensive. Around €10 for the Glove Case and €30 for the Hydra Case. As a result, the prices of the red skins from these collections were already very high even before the update.
Popular gloves from the newer collections can be crafted more cheaply – with a bit of luck.
The items you need to craft Vice Gloves, King Snake Gloves or Imperial Plaid Gloves, you can find in the Clutch Case and Revolution Case.
New Trade-Up Changes
Before the update, the possible outcomes of a trade-up also influenced the chances of which skin you would receive.
Now, the probability is based only on the skins you put into the trade-up.
Previously, if you used five purple skins from a case with three possible pink outcomes and five purple skins from a collection with only two possible pink outcomes, the chance of receiving a pink skin from the case was higher. Now, that probability would simply be 50% to 50%.
In knife and glove trade-ups, it’s also possible to receive knife skins that normally exist only in certain conditions – even if you use lower-condition skins in the trade-up.
For example, you can still get a Factory New Butterfly Fade by using five Field-Tested P90 | Asiimovs in the contract.
Additionally, the Pattern 1000 can now be obtained through trade-ups. This is something that was previously impossible to get from cases.
Many people bought weapon skins that are not able to be used in a trade-up, as there is no higher rarity in the collection. This shows that the market is currently full of panic, with people buying and selling impulsively.
This is a clear reminder to be cautious on the skin market, especially right after updates. It’s always wise to wait until the changes are fully understood and detailed information is available before making any buying or selling decisions.
